TYPES OF STRIPPER EVAPORATOR
1. Multi Effect COD/VOC Stripper (PROCESSOL Stripper)
Multi Effect Evaporator (MEE) + Stripper: An incomplete solution
Multi Effect Evaporator (MEE) is wildly used to remove TDS (Total Dissolved Solid) from effluent water, however COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) removal with Multi Effect Evaporator (MEE) + Stripper is remaining a problem for the industries.
Are you also facing MEE Operation Problems like –
- Efficiency declines and frequent shutdowns due to scaling, foaming, and choking?
- Inefficient removal of low boilers in MEE Stripper, hence high COD load in MEE condensate.
- High boilers with complex chemical structure create operational and safety hazards.
To overcome MEE operation issues, Industry must find innovative and cost-effective solution. Processol Engineers and Consultants has developed integrated technology to reduce COD/VOC in MEE feed water/MEE condensate water (Pre/Post Treatment of MEE) by means of Combined Unit operation technique as Multi effect COD/VOC Stripper (PROCESSOL Stripper).
Multi Effect PROCESSOL Stripper: An Innovative Solution
Multi Effect (COD/VOC) Stripper - A better Option to Pre / Post treat MEE water.
- To reduce COD/VOC load and thus operating cost of MEE, ATFD and Biological ETP.
- To improve MEE (Multiple Effect Evaporator) and ATFD efficiency
Processol’s Technology, Multi Effect COD/VOC Stripper require only Sensible Heat, which differentiate it from Conventional Technology (Distillation with high reflux ratio), which required Sensible as well Latent Heat. The Stripper Column is supplied with Heat recovery system, which uses less than 40% energy of the conventional strippers.
Multi Effect COD/VOC Stripper is combination of Continuous, High Pressure High Temperature Stripper (Primary Stripper/s) and Unique Physio Chemical Treatment (Secondary Stripper/s).
Effective COD/VOC separation and decomposition treatment improves MEE (Multi Effect Evaporator) efficiency / Salt separation / ATFD efficiency and also reduces safety hazards.
For favorable cases like, High COD – Low TDS effluent or Sea discharge availability, the requirement of Multi Effect Evaporator (MEE) (Just to reduce COD Load) can be eliminated.
Features of Multi Effect COD/VOC Stripper (PROCESSOL Stripper):
- Approx 60% less Energy required. Payback in few Months.
- Isolates volatile organics (VOC) more effectively, easy to dispose.
- Removes Ammoniacal Nitrogen and Unwanted Odor, No need of separate treatment.
- Effectively decompose complex chemical structure.
- 60 to 90 % COD Reduction - reduces fouling and improves MEE Operation.
- MEE Descaling cycles minimized, hence reduces MEE operating cost.
- Low COD in MEE Condensate - reduces Biological ETP load.
- Low COD in MEE Concentrate / ATFD feed - reduces ATFD safety hazards.
- High Temperature / Pressure / Chemical / Catalyst Treatment combination.
- Modular skid mounted system, require Power & Heat source - No activity at site.
2. Multi Effect Evaporators (PROCESSOL MEE):
Multi-effect evaporator system (MEE) is a system in which multiple single-stage evaporators are connected in series to achieve continuous evaporation.
The selection of the number of stages, evaporator tube length and diameter of the multi-effect evaporator depends on various factors such as the feed effluent / product properties, the TDS / COD concentration of the feed and discharge materials, the temperature, and the energy consumption. Forced Circulation Evaporator is the most suitable type to treat the high TDS and high COD effluent.
MEE Pre-treatment / Post-Treatment system plays key role for efficient operation of the MEE for the Pharmaceutical / Chemical Industries having high COD/VOC and high TDS load. At PROCESSOL, we provide tailored solution to achieve Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) / regulatory requirements.
At PROCESSOL we design the MEE and MEE Pre-treatment system based on laboratory trials. According to the Industry, characteristics of the material (Effluent / Product) and the size of the evaporation capacity, we design it as a single-effect or multi-effect evaporation unit, with customized flexible equipment combination and optimized working space.
